We do a lot of research before we buy any mobile, fridge, TV, but when it comes to investing, we don't .
Why?
Most people get interested when everyone else is.
The time to be interested is when no one else is. You can't buy what is popular and do well. - Warren Buffet
Its only when the tide goes out that you learn who has been swimming naked - Warren Buffet
We, retail investors, buy any and every other type of company BASED ONLY ON NEWS in media/trending on social media/ hot stocks, without doing any groundwork on the stock ourselves. And then start worrying when stock falls only 5% after 7 days of buying. And end up selling it when it is down by 15%. Losing money.
And then when the market is up again and news in the media is very bullish, we fear we are losing out and maybe re-enter the same stock now at a higher price from where we bought.
Why does this happen?
Because there was no underlying reason to buy that stock, hence no CONVICTION to HOLD during bad times.
No INVESTING FRAMEWORK to abide by.
Having a framework takes our journey from losing capital to making money in stock market.
Plus constant learning from the market and remaining humble is the key.
Purpose of this blog is to help create an investing framework, to nurture an INDEPENDENT THOUGHT PROCESS while analyzing stocks. To help retail investors to avoid getting trapped in the PITFALLS of the market.
So that real compounding can take place when pitfalls are saved.
I'm convinced that everything that's important in investing is counterintuitive, and everything that's obvious is wrong.
